Unit 6

I like that phrase it made me really stop and think of others that may be worse off than myself, or if another is going through something hard and I thought how can I help them. It was hard to close my eyes and remember each sentence, but I got through it.
My psychospiritual is my source of difficulty. The fitness is my level of development that I am stuck on.  I find myself lazy and wanting to exercise. The area I need to focus on for growth and development is to start doing maybe some yoga, that could help me with stress and relaxation. I am up for any ideas on some activities that I can do to help with greater wellness.
Have a great week,
Jennifer

  1. Hi Jennifer,

As we look at the four aspects of human experience and its lines of development, it is quite normal to development unevenly. Some of us are leaders at work, but at home, not so much, some can speak foreign languages, but can’t balance their check book, Life is full of paradoxes and dichotomies, is it not? We can be fully development in one area and underdevelopment in another. The real goal is to know this and to setup a program or an exercise to grow our weaknesses and share those things that we’ve master.

I love yoga, it’s both a mental exercise and a bodily one as well, some would say, even spiritual.

    Best,

    Kevin H.

P.S. Good luck with your Monavie enterprise.

  2. Jennifer,

Thank you for your honesty! I, too, had the same reaction with the universal loving kindness exercise. I couldn't get into it because I had to keep my eyes open and read the sentences however I realized how powerful they are in that it takes the focus off of myself and makes me part of something bigger. I can see how those statements would be effective in having compassion and loving kindness for everyone. I also agree with Kevin that development can happen unevenly. Be gentle with yourself. The first step is acknowledgement.

Good luck in all your endeavors!

  3. Jennifer,
I would say that finding an activity that you enjoy doing is much more beneficial to you than just a "workout". If you don't love it you won't do it consistently.

Like you the phrases that we had to repeat made me think about others, but once it was over I stopped the thinking and that is something that I need to work on. At least you are thing about working out most people don't even do that, the biggest obstacle is getting to the gym once you step foot in there you problems will be over.
