I did the loving kindness exercise, I liked this exercise better than the other ones we have all done. I really like that there was not alot of talking, more of the soothing music. However, after reading the loving kindness in our book, I really can not imagine how someone can breathe out health, happiness, and wholeness to a loved one. How does that work?

Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI like that you questioned the exercise this week, asking questions is always a great thing :). I interpret this as a sense of imagery. I think if you imagine it then you are sending out that positive energy. Like a symbolic act. I think you could compare it to writing down a bad habit and then ripping up that piece of paper as an act to rid yourself of it, if that makes any sense.

I love reading your blog from week to week. I can truly relate to how you feel about many of these activities. I tried picturing my husband for the loving-kindness activity. Oh MY! I found myself chuckling. If you get a chance to go to my blog this week, I took the liberty of explaining that I mean no disrespect to the people that meditate...I just haven't been able to get onto that level. I keep chucking at the loving kindness activity because even after 8 years of marriage my husband is still hilarious to me. He is always finding ways to joke around and make me laugh, so when I tried it I pictured him in a pair of Flowered board shorts and it made me laugh ( he has this horribly awesome looking pair of shorts that he just adores) they make me smile. So I understand were you are coming from. Any luck with progress this week?
