Journey On Relaxation Exercise

I did the relaxation exercise, and wow I feel great. I did not know that 80% of the blood in our bodies comes from the abdominal cavity, our core.  While I was listening it took me a bit to actually give in to the actual activity, but once I did I experienced such a warmth all over. My arms and hands actually did not want to move when it said to try and move them. They really did feel heavy.  I can not believe how my muscles really did feel relaxed for the first time all week. I did not feel energized tho, I actually feel really sleepy which is strange because I have insomnia, I just can not stop yawning.
Good night.

  1. I know, right? It is hard for me to relax too and my doctor told me that I may have slight insomnia. Apparently I need to do more relaxation exercises. Maybe I would actually sleep at night instead of thinking about all the things I need to get done the next day! What is wrong with me!? :)

    1. Last night after I posted my blog, I felt so relaxed so I went to lay on the couch and try to fall asleep and I layed there for two hours could not fall asleep for nothing but I was so tired. I had to get up and go take my sleeping medicine, I just don't understand why.

  2. Hi Jennifer,

I also had a difficult time giving in to the meditation, I guess when you don't do it on a regular basis is hard to get it right the first time. I was able to do it after fighting it for a while and it was certainly worth it; I realized how much my mind needs this type of excercise, and I did get sleepy just like you!

  3. Jennifer,
The point to meditation is not really to help you sleep, it's to help you relax or to help easy pain and while it often puts some people to sleep, you are supposed to stay awake and feel refreshed. Have you tried relaxation music to help you? I have been trying out some different tunes and sounds to try and help me fall asleep quicker at night, I found an app for my phone and it's helping a bit. Just an idea.

  4. Hello Jennifer,
I agree, I can too sometimes have a hard time trying to concentrate during relaxation exercises because I feel like I do not have to relax! I also found it so interesting that the majority of blood flow is through our core! Our bodies are such amazing pieces of work and I thoroughly enjoy learning more and more about them. I think it is great the relaxation technique helped you feel tired since you stated you had insomnia, I hope you can find comfort knowing that this technique is beneficial for you:)
