Mental Health Workout

Mental workout? Well I guess this can be in different ways for each person. Some like yoga, some may do some running or bicycling. There are many studies that help with growth factors of new nerve cells.  The brain is positively affected by exercise that this can increase chemicals in our brains.  Exercise of any kind will have a positive mental benefit.

I personally am not one who exercises. I used to do yoga everyday, but I just have gotten to be so tired. I wonder if it could be from a full time job, school, kids, a house, a husband, etc......I guess I could try to take some time out and take a walk every day.

Loving Kindness

I did the loving kindness exercise, I liked this exercise better than the other ones we have all done. I really like that there was not alot of talking, more of the soothing music. However, after reading the loving kindness in our book, I really can not imagine how someone can breathe out health, happiness, and wholeness to a loved one. How does that work?

Hello everyone, how is everyones week?
For this blog I have listened to the relaxation exercise, and I have done this exercise before in another class. I still feel the same way as I did the last time I listened to this...a bit frustrated. I have a hard time thinking of my body as a colorful prism. I found myself thinking that my body was the candy skittles. Way too many colors he describes and he talks too much. 

Based on my reflections on a scale of 1-10, my physical well-being is an 8. I think I could use a little more weight about 3 lbs and shape my tummy up a bit. My spiritual wellb-eing is a 5, I am not that much of a spiritual person, but when things are tough I tend to pray a little more. My psychological well-being bounces all over, on the weekends I am about a 7, during the work week I am at a 2, very stressed.

My goal is too lose those 3lbs and tighten up the abs. I really honestly can not make a goal for spiritual, and my goal is to find another job to improve my psychological well-being before I have a break down :)

I have to really think how I can implement activities and exercise to my life, I find myself so busy with other things that I don't really have any time.

Journey On Relaxation Exercise

I did the relaxation exercise, and wow I feel great. I did not know that 80% of the blood in our bodies comes from the abdominal cavity, our core.  While I was listening it took me a bit to actually give in to the actual activity, but once I did I experienced such a warmth all over. My arms and hands actually did not want to move when it said to try and move them. They really did feel heavy.  I can not believe how my muscles really did feel relaxed for the first time all week. I did not feel energized tho, I actually feel really sleepy which is strange because I have insomnia, I just can not stop yawning.

Welcome Statement

Hello everyone. Welcome to my blog, I am still getting used to this so please be patient while I still figure it all out. I have already did my profile, and finally understood how what to do for Unit 2.

I live in Illinois and have 2 children and 1 stepdaughter. All of them are teenagers...so these relaxation techniques are going to come in handy!
